Earth revolves around the sun while spinning on its axis. It makes one complete revolution about every 365 days. This trip around the sun gives us our year! It also gives us our seasons.

Places near the poles are always cold, while places near the equator are always warm. Many parts in between see all four seasons. Which season happens where depends on which hemisphere you are in. The Northern and Southern Hemispheres have opposite seasons.
